Single-atom catalysts (SACs) have shown great potential for achieving superior catalytic activity due to maximizing metal efficiency. The key obstacle in developing SACs lies in the availability of supports that can stabilize SACs. Here we report the first successful development of single gold (Au) atom catalysts supported on high-surface-area hierarchical perovskite oxides.With these considerations in mind, we report the first successful fabrication of a novel class of supported Au SACs, leveraging a heterostructured perovskite to provide a unique nanoarchitecture for the immobilization of SACs.Evidenced by theory calculations and experimental results, the surface Au active sites are confirmed to be predominately positively charged. We anticipate that this new study could inspire the discovery of other perovskite-supported metal single atom catalysts, and thus advance their catalytic applications.The perovskite support (LaFeO3/MCF) was prepared by a modified Pechini-method [29,30]. Typically, La(NO3)3·6H2O (0.165 mmol) and Fe(NO3)3·9H2O (0.165 mmol) were dissolved in dilute HNO3 under vigorous stirring, the pH value of the solution was kept between two and three.

Ironically, this blanket support has led the affordability-minded YIMBYs to become vocal allies for luxury buildings backed by private developers. Go figure. This alliance was on full display at a February Plan Commission hearing in which YIMBY advocates argued vociferously on behalf of the controversial Old Town Canvas project.The project, which entails the construction of a 36-story skyscraper in the historic Old Town neighborhood, is the brainchild of developer Nick Anderson’s Delaware-incorporated Old Town Triangle Partners LLC. If it reflects his previous projects; it will be an expensive and luxurious place to live. At the February hearing, YIMBY advocates parroted standard talking points, building the illusion of broad grassroots support for Old Town Canvas.YIMBY proponents pointed to Old Town Canvas’ 70 dedicated affordable housing units as proof that the project would address unmet community needs. But in reality, the project offers 20% affordable housing and 80% unaffordable housing. Is that really something to celebrate? In their blind support of new development, YIMBYs also overlook how hastily designed, profit-driven projects will affect critical neighborhood infrastructure.Despite planning to house over 500 residents, Old Town Canvas will have a single ingress/egress point. Every ride-share, moving van, delivery and resident vehicle entering the tower will be funneled through a single entry and exit point. YIMBYs, many of whom don’t even live near the proposed development, sidestepped or ignored the concerns of actual residents. It’s easy to support a project such as Old Town Canvas from the comfort of a neighborhood miles away, but far more difficult when a development threatens to undermine the livability of a community you call home.

Many traders who use technical analysis hear phrases that suggest a "broken support level will become a future area of resistance" or that a "previous level of resistance will become a support." For beginner traders, phrases like this sound like they're spoken in another language, and even many experienced traders never fully understand or appreciate this intriguing role reversal.For example, let's assume ABC stock has attempted to fall below an ascending trendline several times over the past few months, but although the price approaches this line several times, it fails to move below it. In this case, the trendline is known as a support level because it corresponds to a price level where most investors feel comfortable buying the asset, preventing the market from sending prices drastically lower.As you can see from the chart below, the dotted line represents the price that was able to prop up the price movement at points 1 and 2, but this support turns into resistance once the price falls below it, as illustrated by points 3 and 4.The opposite of this process occurs when the price breaks above resistance. As you can see in the figure below, points 1 and 2 begin as price barriers, but once the bulls are able to push the price above the dotted line, it becomes an area of support (illustrated by points 3 and 4).
